Insidious incomes: How extremists make their money

ISD’s Jacob Davey joined in the launch of RUSI’s Far-Right Extremism and Terrorism (FRET) Research Programme, presenting in a session called Financial Connections. Speakers explored the ways far-right extremists generate income, with discussion ranging from online links between extremist actors and communities, to mainstream donation platforms, cryptocurrency and online gaming.
Jacob shared findings from ISD research into the digital footprints and online fundraising mechanisms of far-right groups in Germany and the US.
Jacob Davey is Head of Research & Policy of Far-right and Hate Movements at ISD.
